Lönnström Project

The sixth Lönnström Project of contemporary art will happen in 2022–2023.
The application period will end on 15 October 2021.

Lönnström Art Museum in Rauma is looking for ideas for a contemporary art project that can only be carried out through collaboration between the artist(s) and the museum. The museum is eager to find fresh ideas that can reach new audiences for contemporary art.

What is the Lönnström Project?
Since 2015 Lönnström Art Museum has conducted several major art projects with artists based in Finland. Because the museum has no exhibition facilities of its own, the projects are not limited by existing walls. The purpose of the Lönnström Project is to promote artistic visions that might otherwise be impossible to realise. Because we want each new project to be different, surprising and bold, we do not specify either the content or form of the project in advance. We want to see what artists will do when they are given free rein, and collaborate with them as partner and supporter.

Lönnström Art Museum will pay for the production of the project, as well as an artist fee, with a maximum of 100,000 euros in total.
